Some Ways to Get Traffic to Your Site

Traffic is the greatest value of the Internet. There are thousands of articles all over the web describing how exactly you can drive more traffic to your website. As for me, I’ve found out a few ways, that will not only bring you traffic, but will definitely be a great time-spending for any person, interested in IT technologies. There is one-word name for this – Freebies.

One of the most effective ways to bring traffic to your site or blog is an eBook releasing. Just write an interesting eBook and then share it on your blog or website, including a direct download link and tell bloggers in your niche about it. If your eBook will contain great info, people will recommend and share it letting you gain more traffic.

What else is very popular today around the web? CSS templates. A lot of people will end up using yours if you submit it to CSS directories and a link to your blog or website in the footer will surely bring some traffic.

Moreover, you can for sure convert your CSS template into a stunning WordPress theme (either create a new one). Millions of people use WordPress and if you submit your theme to directories a lot of people will download it for sure.

Create free tools and widgets. There are blogs and sites that create pointless tools just in order to get the backlinks from online directories or sites that list free tools. It’s much better to make a really pointful free tool that will be helpful for users and bring links to you.

Take and publish photos. Everyone loves pictures and photographs and will gladly link to them. Social networks like Digg and StumbleUpon love collections of interesting and stunning photographs. If you have no talent for photograph you can use pictures of another people who post them on sites like Flickr and they can be reused at no charge.

  • You are so right about photos we even like looking at someone else photos in facebook with any special reason but just like that. So posting different pictures might be a good trick

  • well, is great and other social networking, bookmarking, classifieds are
awesome ideas for getting traffic. Traffic is most important for any site or blog.

  • Building a Good Online reputation over time is the safest and most trusted way to gain traffic, Social Media, SEO, PPC, and Bookmarking are a means to an end.

  • Releasing an eBook sounds like a great idea but you may want to mention how time consuming putting together a quality product can be. To produce that and maintain your website could be difficult.

Using proper keywords, combining them with relevant links, proper titles etc. (common SEO pillars) have always been the best way for me to get traffic because they deliver me right to the front of Google.

Social media though is producing an incredible amount of hits and traffic but very few conversions. Perhaps I will have to keep working harder to produce better content.

    • Oh I know exactly where you are coming from about the how time consuming it can be. I am working on one right now and it is a lot harder than I originally thought.

  • Good post, Valentine. Releasing an ebook is definitely one of most tried and true methods of bringing in some traffic to your website. Also a great point about the photos. Most of us spend a lot of time looking at interesting photos online, especially on Facebook.

    • Oh I so agree with the ebook idea, I wanted to get on done for the mailing list last year but didn’t get around to it. It is certainly at the top of my list for 2012 though.
