Saurabh Nagar Is Still Pushing His Dodgy Blogpressseo Plugin

Late last year I wrote a post about receiving an email from Saurabh Nagar regarding his WordPress plugin called BlogpressSEO. It was quickly exposed by several big bloggers (as well as me) to be incredibly dodgy. You can read the post here.

As I was away for the long weekend I was checking my emails this morning when I noticed an email from him. It was exactly the same email that he had sent me last year, inviting me to download and install his Extremly Powerful, Tested and Ethical WordPress SEO Plugin (spelling error included, shame he didn’t test his spell checker).

It seems that Mr Saurabh Nagar is still trying to peddle his dirty little plugin.

If you receive an email from this man then please do not install it. Not only will it get you banned by Google (they hate link schemes) but, more importantly, there is a back-door built into the plugin that allows the author of the plugin (or anyone who has access to [email protected]) to log into your admin panel WITHOUT YOUR PASSWORD. That means they just have to enter the admin email, the one they have just sent to themselves.

If you have installed this plugin then there are some steps you should take to protect yourself, they can be found here.

Thanks for sharing. Thou, I really don’t entertain much of my emails unless I expect them to be their, cause most of them are just spams and attached files are really smells fishy! 😉

When I was first contacted by this man I Googled his plugin and spoke to a couple of people, that’s how I discovered what his plugin did. Sadly lots of people install the plugin before they find out the full story.

It is a horrible little plugin.

That’s an eye opener. I did not realize that a tiny little unwanted plug-in can gain access to the admin panel. Thanks for sharing.

I’m just glad to get the message to as many people as possible. It is a horrible plugin written by a horrible person who only wants to fleece people and hack into WordPress accounts.
