How to Remind New Users to Change Their Password

If you have set up your WordPress blog in the same way as millions of us then you will be allowing your users to receive a generated password when they create their accounts. This is fine and dandy, but for many people it can be difficult for them to remember the password that was generated.

There are a couple of reasons why your users won’t change their password when they login after creating their accounts:

  1. They forget.
  2. They don’t know where to go.

Password Pointer is a nifty out-of-the-box plugin that can help remind/nag your users to change their passwords by placing a pointer on their account that tells them to change their password and shows them where to go.

Hopefully this is something that WordPress will include in a future update, but in the mean time this small plugin will do the job for you.
