How to Drive Free Traffic to Your Website with Blog Commenting

Finding ways to minimize expenses is attractive for any business, no matter how flush with cash it may be. If you are just starting out or have hit a bit of a rough patch financially, however, finding ways to save money while still allowing for your business to grow, is particularly important. Marketing is vital, yet when money is tight, this is often one of the areas that needs to get scaled back to so money can be put towards the most essential elements of your operation.

The internet offers tremendous opportunity to market your business for little to no money in a variety of ways. Creating helpful, valuable comments on blogs is one such strategy that can attract free traffic to your website quickly. You can establish yourself as an authority, get your link in front of your target market and help improve the ranking of your website in search engines to name a few benefits.

The key is to add value to the blog post with your comments. Avoid the urge to leave one liners, showing you are desperate to simply gain a backlink. This strategy displays that you are trying to use a fellow blogger for your advancement, which turns most bloggers off.

Instead, intend to add value to the blog post you read. Keep this idea in mind: when you help a blogger out by writing an engaging, insightful comment, you will be helped out by generating more free traffic which clicks your link and visits your blog.

How can you drive free traffic to your website with blog commenting?

Create a Piece of Content

Too many bloggers make the mistake of rushing through commenting, feeling that short and punchy comments will drive traffic to their site. This strategy makes zero impact on the minds of readers. Focus instead on crafting a piece of content each time you sit down to comment.

Include an introduction, body and conclusion for each comment. Hold the intent to make an impact on the minds of your target market. Address the blogger by first name, such as “Hello John”, to build your introduction. This forms a nice bond between you and the blogger, which could grow into a prospering relationship for both parties.

Proceed to create an insightful body portion for your post/comment. Indicate that you read the post by noting a portion of the content. You might copy and paste and sentence from the post, and include within quotes, to reference the note.

Then you can proceed to expound on this idea, sharing your insight. If you really want to drive a significant amount of traffic to your blog try writing a 1 to 2 paragraph body within your comment. Seek to add value to the blog post with your comment.

Wrap up your comment with a conclusion. Thank the blogger for sharing their insight with you, which will now improve your skill set. Then sign off with your name. This can help make an inedible impression on the minds of readers, which helps you to generate free traffic.

Persist

Persist in applying this strategy. You might not generate a great deal of traffic in 1 or 2 days, but over weeks you can see a steady flow of new readers who find you through your insightful, thoughtful commenting strategy.

Persistence wins in the blogging game. Readers see you commenting persistently, being “all over the place”, and you begin to generate a serious buzz around your blog and brand. At this point traffic generation moves into overdrive, all because you persisted over weeks and months with this proven strategy.

Use these tips to drive free traffic to your website with blog commenting and reap the rewards of this traffic surge.

Blog commenting is a great way of getting free traffic to your blog, i comment all the time on blogs and im subscribed to over 120 blogs and rising.

What i find works best is leaving great comments and not just the usual ‘great post’ etc etc.

Blog commenting is my favourite method of driving traffic to this blog, I’ve been doing it since 2007. Leaving a comment that tries to add something to the post is a perfect way of having your comments approved, doing “great post” type comments will just be a waste of your time as they will normally be deleted quickly.

Blog commenting is the best way to engage with audiences and add value to blogosphere. Replying to every comment is also essential to gain quality traffic and also be updated with your blog. Thanks Kelli for sharing such an informative note. 🙂

Here’s one small blog commenting tip from me – see who’s commenting your blog, visit their blogs and participate in discussions here. I usually navigate from one blog to another this way and subscribe to most interesting ones. This way you will always learn new tips. Have a nice day 🙂
