4 Simple Ways to get People to Notice Your About Me Page

Have you created an awesome About Me page and want people to check it out, but they’re not? Is there some awesome stuff on the page that is sitting there gathering dust because nobody knows about it? This is something that a lot of bloggers experience because despite the fact we acknowledge how important it is to have an About Me page, many do not bother to try and drive traffic to it.

There are a number of things you can do to increase your About Me page’s awareness and below are just four of them, and they won’t take very long to implement.

1. Create a Simple About Me Widget in Sidebar

Placing a widget in the sidebar for your About Me page is great at catching the eye, especially if you have a good photo to go with it. If your theme does not have a widget to do this then you can use a plugin or you can code it yourself if you are competent.

I don’t have one on this blog because it looks horrible.

2. Link to Your About Me Page in Your Comments

This is something I don’t know why more people fail to take advantage of. When you reply to the comments left on your blog (which you should ALL be doing) there is an option to leave a URL in your name, obviously there is no point having it point to your blog’s home page, so why not link it to your About Me page?

3. Add an Author Box Below Posts

Having an author box at the end of your posts is vital and a great way of introducing yourself to your readers, you could include a picture, a little bit of info, some social profile buttons, and then a link inviting readers to visit the About Me page to read more. Again if your theme doesn’t accommodate this then there are plugins that will.

4. Insert About Me Widget and Social Media Buttons in Footer Widget (If you Have One)

If you have a footer widget (not all themes do) then you might want to place your About Me widget in the footer instead of in your sidebar, some people prefer this option because there is more room to add more content. Again there are plenty of plugins for this.

Do you currently use any of these methods? Maybe you have thought of some that I have omitted from this article? Why not let us know in the comments section below. 🙂

  • Pretty simple steps, but ones that non many people implement. About me pages are important as it allows people to relate to the blog and see who is behind it. Same with author boxes at the bottom of posts like you use
