3 Ways to Make Money Online with Less Than $100

With the economy in shambles, many people are looking for other ways to make money. Most people went into business for themselves, and other people started their own online business. However, many people don’t want to start an online business and invest too much money into it, and for good reasons. It is important to make wise decisions when money is tight; therefore, you should never invest more than $100 in your new online business if you have a tight budget or are inexperienced.

There are ways to make money online with less than $100. However, you should understand that your results may be minimal or take a while to show. With that being said, here are three ways to make money online with a small budget.

1. Sell things on Craigslist and eBay

If you live in a small town, you will have a hard time selling things to people. Yard sales and flea markets may be scarce, so you should turn to the Internet to help you sell your items.

Many people create a business out of selling things online. You can find items being sold at local yard sales and flea markets; clean them up and resell them for a profit. You can purchase a bike on Craigslist and resell that bike on Craigslist for a profit.

It helps if you specialize in a certain type of item, such as antiques, jewelry or collectables. By knowing the true value of certain items, you can take advantage of any selling opportunity and profit from it.

2. Become an affiliate marketer

Affiliate marketing is one of the most common types of online businesses. Simply put, affiliate marketing is promoting another person’s product, and he gives you a commission for every sale that you make. Affiliate marketing is typically easier for inexperienced online marketers. It gives them the chance to learn how to market a product or company online, preparing them for their own business.

While the world of affiliate marketing is complex, all you really need to know is that you should have your own website specifically designed for the affiliate product, market that website on social media sites and create articles for article directories that link to your website. Other sophisticated marketing methods can be learned later.

3. Create a Google Adsense account

With a Google Adsense account, you open up multiple opportunities to make money online. You can create articles on sites like Hubpages and receive revenue for every placed ad that readers click. If you create videos for Youtube, you may be able to participate in their partners program, which also uses utilizes Google Adsense. However, your videos and channel have to have a certain amount of views or subscribers before you can participate.

It is free to create an Adsense account, but you can not use your Adsense account to promote porn products, gambling and other risky types of products or content. Google does not allow its affiliates to use their revenue sharing program to promote adult entertainment. Doing so could result in a permanent ban, which is something you don’t want if you want to make money online.

These are three things you can do to make money online with a strict budget. As time progresses, you may find that you have more money to put towards other types of online business strategies.

  • Great overview for someone trying to wrap their head around where to start making money online. Thanks!

  • Lots of luck on that one. You and million-s of other people are looking for the same thing. And for the most part, such “jobs” don’t exist. You pay us first is a major warning sign. About the only people who make any real money are those who start their own web site.

    • I think you are being unnecessarily pessimistic. I have bee making money online by blogging since November 2007 and if I can do it then ANYBODY can. 🙂

  • Third option is best choice if you like to work hard.
I invest Only hard work to my blog. It brings my success, now i am earning. Also i have to say thanks to god, for giving success.

  • Google adsense is the best way to earn money if we have good traffic for our website

  • I agree, in my opinion With Good SEO, you’ll get good traffic and make really cool money online by displaying ads and lots more. traffic is very vital to internet wealth.

  • Excellent money making idea,by investing less money anyone can do it.But it required good basic knowledge about internet and SEO.

  • I am looking for ways to make money online without the hassle, and the possiblity of being scamed. I heard and saw boges websites those that ask for your credit card number I don’t get into them website. so what ways can make online without a highschool deploma.please suggest me solutions..

  • compare to other two source, google adsense is the best way to earn more money if we have more number of sites

  • What i love about making money as an affiliate that any hard work does get rewarded and even when things fail, you’ve learnt something, and you just move onto the next affiliate idea, with new ones coming out all the time. I specialise in art affiliates because i find this area interesting and advise anyone else to go for sectors that interest them as it is then easier to put the hours in.

  • Well i didn’t try first two methods yet but yes I am using google adsense and I do agree with you, this is a good way to make money online. And if you do SEO for your site and gets traffic from search engine then you will even earn very decent money from adsense. 🙂

    • Adsense certainly makes a lot of money for people, but it really does depend on what niche you are in.

I know a fellow blogger who writes a recipe blog and she makes nothing with Adsense because people are looking for recipes, not to buy anything.

  • My first venture into online business was through eBay. After that I was hooked on finding some way to make money online. Sadly, eBay now has a lot of practices I don’t agree with and we’ve had to go our separate ways. I’ve moved on to other ways to make money, because I decided doing customer service was a drag.. especially on eBay. Some of those people are painfully annoying. I once had somebody ask me for a discount on shipping charges – the shipping charge was already free!

    • I like Ebay as a method of making money, I stopped using it to make money because some niches have become saturated, it’s great for people who want a bargain in those niches though because the sellers are dropping their prices to compete with eachother. 🙂
